Bachelor of Accountancy

Our Bachelor of Accountancy (B.Acc) is a broad based programme which provides accounting education to our accounting students. The B.Acc programme focuses on core accounting issues. Bachelor of Science in Purchase and Supply

 

Purchasing plays a major role of economic activities in Zambia. The level of economic activities involving purchasing and supply functions has brought both opportunities and challenges in both the private and public sectors. The key attribute the marketplace now seeks in purchasing and supply management is the ability to ensuring continuity of supply in line with business requirements, the appropriate management of risks, effective supplier relationship management and the attainment of value for money through influencing both operational, tactical and strategic decisions. Purchasing and Supply management positions are now intended to provide more value to customers, establish market differentiation, develop lasting supplier relationships and become flexible and agile, hence the need for specialized competencies in this field.

The aim of the programme is to develop a range of technical and transferable soft skills to equip students.

Bachelor Science in Business Administration

 

This program is a generalist degree aimed at equipping students with a broad understanding of how organizations operate in different environmental contexts, private, and public. It exposes students to a wide range of issues and challenges faced by managers as they strive to make organizations successful, sustainable and responsible stakeholders in society. Students develop relevant conceptual, analytical, functional, and operational capabilities to equip them to confidently address a range of organizational and managerial challenges in contemporary organizations. The program aims at developing a student’s intellectual ability, executive personality and managerial skills. It is also designed to produce up-to-date, assertive and effective executives for business and other organizations and prepares students for further studies.
The four (4) years BBA programme is tailor made to serve the needs of the bright young people who have completed twelve years of education and are looking for a career education in entrepreneurship, management profession or towards higher education in business administration.

 

Bachelor of Science in Marketing

The Bachelor of Science in Marketing degree offers a fulfilling and comprehensive programme that is designed to meet the industry demand and is accredited internationally. It involves a study of marketing issues both in the domestic and international setting and seeks to keep students abreast of the modern marketing practices in this rapidly changing world. One of the aims of this programme is to develop the students’ intellectual and analytical abilities through interpreting cases, concepts and theories and translating them into strategic marketing decisions in the face of the ever-changing business environment. Marketing, which is one of the core activities of any business, continues to receive increased recognition world over especially by firms that are forward thinking and want to remain afloat in the light of competition. The programme has thus been structured to offer a professional training to both students aspiring to be employed as Marketing Managers (not forgetting other equally challenging positions in the field of marketing) and those currently in employment needing advanced marketing knowledge and training to sharpen their skills .

This degree program is aimed at equipping students with a broader understanding and knowledge of how to manage company resource such as personnel, equipment, capital etc effectively and efficiently by means of their full utilization. Students would also acquire advisory knowledge and guidance on how to manage these different resources used in production, so as to attain quality products and services that would create long lasting valuable relationships. It also empowers the learners with skills on how to manage issues of labour relations in a positive way.
The programme enables students to acquire expertise on how to develop themselves and others in their career path within their various and non-homogenous environments. Bachelor of Economics

 

The Bachelor of Science degree in Economics was introduced in the 2012/13 academic year as a response to increased industry, government, non-governmental organizations and international organisations demand for graduates with a strong grounding in Economics. Therefore, it became imperative to introduce specialized degrees in Economics at bachelors, masters and doctoral levels. A number of specialized Economics programmes tailored to meet the interests and needs of students are now available at many other universities worldwide. In order to stay competitive on the changing higher education landscape, it was thought important that the Copperbelt University also adapts to such changes by introducing the programme of Economics. The department offers only one degree programme: Bachelor of Science in Economics with various specialisations in international economics, health economics, financial and monetary economics, environmental economics, agricultural economics and development economics.
