Dr. Ngawo Namukonde is a seasoned conservation biologist with many years (16 years) of experience in the science and technology sector. Her early career years were spent at policy level at the National Science and Technology Council, where she coordinated activities that lead to the promotion of scientific research and technological development in Zambia, and at the Zambia Wildlife Authority where she headed the Research Unit for the Kafue Ecosystem. Currently she serves as Lecturer in the School of Natural Resources at the Copperbelt University and also coordinates the activities of the International Research School of the CBU African Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Mining. Besides her teaching and administrative obligations, Dr Namukonde is actively involved in research and consultancy activities that are centred on biodiversity and its conservation, and on the effects of environmental factors that act upon the various components of biodiversity.
