  • MSc, plant pathology, 1989, University of London, United Kingdom.
  • BSc (Forestry), 1987, Sokoine University, Tanzania.
  • Dip (Forestry), 1979, Zambia Forestry College, Kitwe.
  • Obote Shakacite joined the Copperbelt University as a part-time Lecturer in April 2011 and was appointed full-time Lecturer in April 2013. Obote is a forestry sector expert with over 30 years; having worked in Government, Parastatal and forest research institution. He is involved in all areas of the University mission: teaching, research and service. Obote Shakacite’s areas of research are in plant pathology, entomology, forest policy, forest protection and management.
