ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma in Forestry, Zambia Forestry College, Mwekera

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Mr. Geophat Qonda Mpatwa Joined the Copperbelt University in May 2013, as a Technician in the School of Natural Resources. Before joining Copperbelt University, he worked for Zambia Forest and Forestry Industries Corporation (ZAFFICO) as a Forester in charge of logging and Silviculture sections respectively. Mr. Mpatwa has over 13 years of Practical Forestry and natural resources interventions.

In his current capacity as Technician in the School, he assists lecturers in carrying out filed and laboratory practicals, organizing tools, equipment and materials for field practicals, manage workers performing nursery operations and conduct nursery operation training. He also conducts land preparation for planting of various tree species for the School, conduct seed collection activities for both indigenous and agroforestry species, conduct seed analysis, treatment, germination test and storage and manage the forest nursery for the school. He has vast experience in undertaking field surveys, facilitate community training workshops, liaising with community leaders, monitoring project interventions and also undertaking forest inventories. Mr. Mpatwa is an innovative and result oriented individual in the field of Forestry.
