ORICA DONATES 200 CHAIRS TO THE COPPERBELT UNIVERSITY


In a generous gesture aimed at enhancing the learning environment of postgraduate students at the Copperbelt University, ORICA, an international organisation specialised in the supply of explosives and mining equipment to the Mining firms in Zambia, has donated 200 chairs to the Copperbelt University (CBU). The donation comprising of a mix of office and study chairs makes a significant contribution towards improving the learning environment at the institution through the provision of state of the art furniture.

During the ceremony, ORICA Country Director Jeffrey Oforiakurang reiterated the company’s dedication to supporting educational initiatives and fostering a conducive environment for learning. He further emphasized the importance of collaboration between the corporate sector and academic institutions in nurturing talent and driving socio-economic development.

Expressing appreciation for the donation, the acting Vice Chancellor of Copperbelt University, Professor Thomas Taylor commended ORICA for its generosity and commitment to investing in education. He highlighted the importance of such partnerships in advancing the university’s mission of academic excellence, research and innovation.

With the addition of these 200 chairs, generously provided by Orica, Copperbelt University reaffirms its commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for its students, further solidifying its position as one of the leading institutions of higher education in the region.
