Introduction
Being the only university in the country offering bachelors degree in the field of chemical engineering, the Chemical Engineering Department is at the forefront of excellence in education and research. It aims to educate students both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in modern process engineering principles as well as lifelong professional growth and a dynamic range of career. The programme is fully accredited by the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ). Our goal is to integrate programmes that promote students learning and development, which are handled by well establish and competent staff members. The core values of the programme are to equip students with fundamental principles of chemical engineering through mathematics and engineering sciences. The department endeavors into multi-disciplinary teaching and research programmes that aims at producing world-class graduates that are nationally and internationally competitive. Sc/M.Phil in Chemical Engineering

PHD
This programme is designed to provide specialised professionals capable of conducting advanced research that add value to the know-how in chemical engineering for research and consultancy. Entry to a PhD programme will require possession of a master’s degree and submission of a research proposal. Further information can be obtained from the Postgraduate Coordinator. MSc/MPhil
The entry requirement for an MSc/MPhil is a minimum of a credit for a Copperbelt University B.Eng Chemical Engineering degree or any other bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized university. A candidate who wishes to enroll for an MPhil will also be required to submit a research programme.
Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Chemical Engineering
This is a five year programme available on full time. The programme has five elective courses at fifth year of study. The options include; Combustion and Energy Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy, Industrial Waste Management, Polymer Science and Technology and Biotechnology Processes. The programme will, in the near future, also be offered as an evening programme.
Diploma in Chemical Technology
Diploma in Chemical Technology is a three year programme. It consists of two streams which start in second year of study. The streams include Engineering and Polymer Streams. A Diploma in Chemical Technology will, in the near future, also be offered as an evening programme.
