The Department of Governance has been designed to be one of the most multidisciplinary and needs-orientated departments within the Copperbelt University, whose core mission is to spearhead relevant strides towards public leadership, policy formulation and the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The department endeavours to train a crop of citizens who will be highly qualified as public policy analysts that can devise the relevant solutions to the myriad of challenges faced in Zambia.
Undergraduate programmes pertaining to politics, governance, international relations, development and philosophy will be offered in the department. The courses will effect behavioural change and positive self-image in a variety of imparted skills in leadership, citizenship and ethics training.
Through innovative and skilled research, the department of Governance will take the lead in training students through a learning model that will bridge the gap between theory and practice of public policy analyses and public leadership.
