RESEARCH INTERESTS
Lunga Jeremiah Sianagowa currently works in the Arts Department of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. He teaches Music Education and Performance courses including Theory, Aural, History, Music Pedagogy, Piano and choral studies. Apart from academic teaching and directing the Copperbelt University Choir and Orchestra, Lunga is actively engaged in research. His research interests are in contextualized Music Education, Musicology and Performing Arts. His current work includes qualitative research in inclusive and exclusive community musicing and choral practice in Zambia; as well as the role of the Arts in nation-building, socio-cultural issues, social cohesion and conflict resolution. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Music Education and is working towards completing a PhD in Visual and Performing Arts (Music Education) at Northwest University in Potchefstroom, South Africa.
