The Department of Social Studies is one of the latest departments in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at The Copperbelt University.

DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS
The Department of Economics of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences was established as a response to the stakeholders’ needs of having economics programmes that can produce graduates who are entrenched in economic theory, statistics, and mathematical and econometric modelling. It also strives to develop a cadre of intellectuals that can conduct applied economic research that responds cross-cutting socio-economic problems at national and global levels

DEPARTMENT OF LAW
The Department of Law situated in the newly birthed School of Humanities & Social Sciences is a fulfillment of the aim of the Copperbelt University of promoting and advancing education. The Department of Law has given its students an opportunity to have an insight into a system of rules and regulations whose enforcement ensures an orderly society.

DEPARTMENT OF GOVERNANCE
The Department of Governance has been designed to be one of the most multidisciplinary and needs-orientated departments within the Copperbelt University, whose core mission is to spearhead relevant strides towards public leadership, policy formulation and the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The department endeavours to train a crop of citizens who will be highly qualified as public policy analysts that can devise the relevant solutions to the myriad of challenges faced in Zambia.

DEPARTMENT OF ART
The Department of Arts (Musicology) currently offers both University academic programs as well as vocational skills and short courses through our CBU Community Music School (CMS). There are currently two degree programs offered in the Department of Arts
