ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION

MSc (Economics), SOAS University of London BA (Economics), University of Zambia

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Maio’s undergraduate degree was a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics, with a minor in mathematical statistics, from the University of Zambia (UNZA). His postgraduate degree was an Msc in Economics (with reference to Africa) from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London Following the completion of his MSc in 2016, Maio has worked as a university lecturer at public and private universities in Zambia. He is also active in health, development and international economics research. He has published journal articles in top peer-reviewed journals such as BMJ Global Health and BMC Health Services Research. For more details, kindly see his Google Scholar profile:

Maio’s research interests are in the economic evaluation of health programmes and policies, estimating health system efficiency, and analysing the level, equity, patterns and trends in reproductive, maternal, new born, child and adolescent health, &nutrition (RMNCAH & N) indicators. He is currently working on tracking the progress and performance of selected RMNCAH & N indicators.
