High impact research is at the core of CBU-ACESM’s mission. The Centre conducts demand-driven, applied research that addresses critical challenges in sustainable mining and contributes to improved environmental management and human well-being.

Our research focuses on generating practical solutions in areas such as mine rehabilitation, waste management, energy efficiency, occupational health, and ecosystem conservation.
