CBU HOSTS INTER-SCHOOLS QUIZ TO PROMOTE ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND CAREER AMBITION


The Copperbelt University, through its Zambia Institute of Chaertered Accountants (ZICA) chapter has successfully hosted an Inter-Schools Quiz Competition, bringing together six secondary schools from Kitwe in a spirited display of knowledge, academic excellence, and professional aspiration.

Held recently at the main campus in kitwe, the competition aimed to encourage academic discipline among learners while creating early awareness of the Chartered Accountancy (CA Zambia) Programme, a flagship qualification offered by the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).

Speaking during the event, School of Business Dean, Professor Chanda Shikaputo, urged the participating learners to remain focused, embrace challenges with courage, and cultivate a spirit of collaboration and excellence in their academic pursuits.

And ZICAs Northern Region Office Education and Training Officer Ms. Lenthia Bella, engaged the students on the benefits and opportunities within the CA Zambia programme and encouraged them to set their sights on professional accounting qualifications early and to aim for excellence beyond secondary school.

After a highly competitive series of rounds, Hellen Kaunda Girls’ Secondary School emerged as the overall winner clinching the top spot for the third consecutive time walking away with the prize of K2500. They triumphed over Chibote Girls’ School, who impressively advanced to the finals after bouncing back from the semifinals wining the prize of 1500. Mukuba Secondary School secured third place after a tough playoff against Mpelembe Secondary School scooping the prize of K1000.

All participants received individual medals and branded merchandise in recognition of their participation and efforts.
