RECIPE FOR GOOD SUCCESS

By Emmanuel Muwowo

The boy Kamona looked at the mother with great sadness on the face, because the mother was about to leave and go work in a village nearby. Kamona realised that quiet a number of things had to change without the mother around, especially on the part of who had to prepare him for school and make him the special cakes, which he claimed only the mother could make. The mother upon perceiving the troubled mind of her small and adorable little Kamona, she bent down to him and wiped the tears running from the small brown eyes of her little boy. Comforting the boy the mother assured Kamona and said “don’t cry little prince nothing is changing even though I will be away, I have left everything in the hands of Aunt Natasha including the recipe of your favourite cakes. I have also instructed her to teach you how to make them for yourself. “Stay focussed on your destination even if the path may seem stormy today.” Billy Cox
Therefore, you need not to worry, now let me see that magic smile my brave boy.” Kamona could smile again as he looked at Aunt Natasha because the puzzling thoughts in his head had just been cleared. Often times we are faced with a lot of questions in our day to day endeavours, we ask ourselves. How can I go about this? How can I achieve that? What should I do to live a fulfilled life? How can I succeed in my academics or at my work? What is the road map to success? How do I overcome failure and fear? And so on.
Questions of this kind revolve around one
central thing SUCCESS, and can be dealt with by understanding what success is and what is involved if you are to be successful in all you do. Success can be defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Joshua 1:7-8 “Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that tou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” King James Version (KJV)
After Moses died the time came for Joshua to take over from God’s servant, to lead the Children of Isreal to the Promised Land. We see now God giving Joshua a strategy or recipe for success in his leadership. He firstly encourages him to be strong and very courageous, which shows that in success you have to channel some ENERGY if you are to attain it, because it takes courage to begin a step not knowing really the outcome, yet hoping for the best. You have to WORK if you are to achieve success, Paul commanded the church at Thessalonica in second Thessalonians chapter three verse ten through to twelve that they should work if they are to eat. You have to DREAM and put in what it takes to make them manifest.
God moves on to unfold that fact that in success you have to be FOCUSSED, “… turn not from it to the right hand or to the left …” If you have to succeed you have to press towards the goal, you have to know what you really want to get out of the every course you take in life. A winner’s eyes are fixed on the prize not the things around him. In the journey to success people will criticize you and talk you down, if you are not focussed you can give up. The Apostle Paul, one of the most successful Apostles gives us a picture of how focussed he was in the book of Philippians chapter three verse thirteen and fourteen, he mentions to say he takes no glory in past achievements, but fixes he’s eyes towards the goal/prize ahead. Though being highly persecuted and surrounded by a lot of enemies, he’s focus never shook.
Furthermore God was creating a POSITIVE MINDSET in Joshua, he reminds him in the last words of verse seven of Joshua chapter one that your locality does not determine your success. You have the potential to succeed wherever you are. All you have to do is have a mindset of winning and overcome the bad habits that can make you stack at one place. Build a character and attitudes that favours success. What you think is what you become, they say if you think you can’t you are right and if you think you can you are right as well. Always be positive
Finally the concept of meditating upon the WORD of God comes in. Now one may ask does meditating on the book of the Law have anything to do with success let’s say in academics? My answer is yes it has everything to do with every good success. The word of God reveals your full potential, because it is only God who created you who knows your full ability just as the manufacturers knows the perfect use of their product. Success without God is not success at all, because it is in God we find our purpose. No wonder scripture says if you build without the Lord, your labour is in vain. Seek him first and all you desire shall be added to you. Even in academics it is he that gives understanding, because is the source of all knowledge, that’s why the writer of Psalms in chapter one hundred and nineteen and the verse of ninety nine says “I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.” (KJV)

To wrap it all, I would like to appeal to you to consider these ingredients in your pursue of success in your life. It worked for Joshua, it is working for me and might just work for you. Involve God in all you do and you will be prosperous.. Wish you GOOD SUCCESS in life.
