The Copperbelt University has donated assorted food items to malnourished children at the Kitwe Teaching Hospital.
CBU Public Relations Officer Christabel Malama said the donation is aimed at improving the nutrition levels of children at the hospital.
Ms Malama said the institution attaches great importance to the needs of the community CBU operates in hence the decision to donate the food stuffs.
‘We are not only an education institution but also carry out outreach programmes to serve the needs of the people in our communities’ she said.
Ms Malama said the donated food items will help promote good health among the children especially that they are the future leaders.
And acting KTH Senior Superintendent Angel Malama commended CBU for the donation.
He also appealed to the institution to consider donating some toys and heaters for the children for stimulation and heating.
Dr Malama also called on other institutions to emulate CBUs gesture of giving back to the community.
