EVENING AND DISTANCE  PROGRAMMES

Evening and Distance programmes under the Mining Engineering Department include the following:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering,
  • Diploma in Mining Engineering, and
  • Diploma in Mine Ventilation.
The course content takes the same form as that for the full-time programmes.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND DURATION FOR DISTANCE PROGRAMMES Undergraduate distance programmes require that a candidate must have a minimum of five (5) credits with English, Mathematics and Science (or Physics and Chemistry) being mandatory subjects. Special cases may be given exceptional exemptions as per University Requirements. It should be noted that preference for admission to an undergraduate distance programme shall be given to those working in the mining industry and the duration is the same as for full time programmes. DURATION FOR EVENING  PROGRAMMES

Evening Programmes are run on Semester basis. Each Semester has a total of 20 weeks and an average of 15 hours per week. The duration for each programme is as tabulated in table:
