In his first official visit to the office of the Copperbelt Provincial Minister since taking office in May 2024, The Copperbelt University (CBU) Vice Chancellor, Professor Imasiku Nyambe, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Elisha Matambo, MP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, Professor Nyambe shared his vision of transforming the university and alleviating the challenges it faces, with the aim of positioning CBU as a premier institution of higher learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Nyambe outlined plans to enhance CBU\u2019s infrastructure, academic offerings, and student services, with a focus on creating a conducive environment for both learning and research. He emphasized the importance of unity within the university community and stressed his commitment to working closely with stakeholders to build a better future for the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, Hon. Matambo expressed his strong support for the Vice Chancellor\u2019s vision and pledged to champion the development initiatives aimed at improving CBU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to education, noting that President Hakainde Hichilema places great importance on education as a key tool for societal progress and economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The President views education as an equalizer and a fundamental pillar of development,” Hon. Matambo stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further urged Professor Nyambe to focus on uniting the CBU community, bringing together staff, students, and stakeholders to work collaboratively toward common goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hon. Matambo emphasized that fostering unity is essential for achieving the university\u2019s objectives and creating a harmonious working and learning environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting highlights the shared commitment between CBU and the government to advance the university’s role in driving Zambia\u2019s socio-economic development. With the Provincial Minister\u2019s backing, CBU is poised to embark on a new chapter of growth and transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
