This fund is a collaborative effort between the Alumni Association, university administration, and external partners, aimed at fostering a culture of giving back while addressing critical student needs.<br \/>Key objectives of the fund include supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds, maintaining fairness and transparency in the selection process, and ensuring the long-termsustainability of the fund through strategic investments.<\/span> <br \/><br \/><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1902\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1902\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Specific Goals of the Fund<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1902\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1902\"><ul><li>\u00a0<span class=\"fontstyle0\">To support students facing financial difficulties in accessing higher education.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">To foster a culture of giving among alumni for the betterment of future students.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">To ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability in the selection and disbursement of funds.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1903\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1903\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Governance and Management<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1903\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1903\"><p><span class=\"fontstyle0\">The <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Endowment Fund Committee <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">(EFC) shall be established to manage and oversee the fund. This committee will comprise:<\/span> <\/p><ul><li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Two representatives from the CBU Alumni Association<\/span>.<\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">A representative from the University administration<\/span>.<\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">A faculty member.<\/span> <\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">A student representative<\/span> <\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">An external financial expert<\/span> <\/li><\/ul><p><span class=\"fontstyle0\">The committee will be responsible for fundraising, investment decisions, and selection of beneficiaries and prepare monthly reports to the Executive Committee of the CBU Alumin Association.<\/span> <\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1904\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1904\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Funding and Donations<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1904\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1904\"><ul><li>\u00a0<span class=\"fontstyle0\">Donations to the fund may be solicited from alumni, corporate sponsors,<br \/>philanthropists, and other stakeholders.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Funds shall be invested in low-risk financial products to ensure sustainability.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Regular reports on the financial status of the fund will be provided to the alumni<br \/>association.<\/span> <br \/><br \/><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1905\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"5\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1905\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Eligibility Criteria for Vulnerable Students<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1905\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"5\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1905\"><p><span class=\"fontstyle0\">To qualify for assistance from the Alumni Association Endowment Fund, students must meet the following criteria:<\/span><\/p><p><strong> <span class=\"fontstyle0\">Enrollment Status <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">&#8211; The student must have enrolled as a full-time student at Copperbelt University.<\/span><\/p><table class=\"NormalTable\" style=\"height: 308px;\" width=\"372\"><tbody><tr><td width=\"550\"><p><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Financial Need <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">&#8211; The student must demonstrate significant financial need, supported<br \/>by documentation such as:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Evidence of being an orphan or from a single-parent household. <br \/><\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Documentation of parents&#8217; or guardians&#8217; unemployment or disability.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Proof of any other circumstances that impact the student&#8217;s financial situation.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Recommendation from the Dean of the School in which the student is.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><p><strong> <span class=\"fontstyle0\">Academic Standing <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">&#8211; The student must;<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Studying for undergraduate degree programme at CBU<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">In year 2 and above<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Vulnerable<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Of good character<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">High performers (High performer with good grades in their previous academic year all round to demonstrate satisfactory academic progress)<\/span>.<\/li><li><strong> <span class=\"fontstyle0\">Vulnerable Categories <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">&#8211; Priority shall be given to:<br \/><\/span><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Orphans and vulnerable children<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Students from rural or marginalized communities.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Students with disabilities.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Students who are primary caregivers to ill or elderly family members.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong> <span class=\"fontstyle0\">Behaviour and Character <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">&#8211; The student must demonstrate good moral standing,<br \/>evidenced through a recommendation letter from a faculty member or community<br \/>leader.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1906\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"6\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1906\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Application Process <\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1906\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"6\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1906\"><p>\u00a0<span class=\"fontstyle0\">Call for Applications &#8211; <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle2\">The EFC will announce application windows at the beginning<br \/>of each academic year.<br \/><\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Submission<\/strong> &#8211; <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Students must submit:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">A completed application form.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">A personal statement describing their financial situation and how the assistance will impact their education.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Supporting documents for financial need<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Two recommendation letters (academic and community-based).<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Official Results Slip<\/span> <\/li><\/ul><p><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Screening and Review <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">&#8211; Applications will be reviewed by the EFC based on eligibility,<br \/>need, and available funds.<\/span><\/p><p><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Interview <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">&#8211; Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview to further assess<br \/>their financial situation.<\/span><\/p><p><strong> <span class=\"fontstyle0\">Decision and Disbursement <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">&#8211; Successful applicants will be notified in writing, and the<br \/>funds will be disbursed directly to the university\u2019s finance department to cover tuition,<br \/>accommodation, and other educational expenses.<\/span> <\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1907\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"7\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1907\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Monitoring and Accountability<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1907\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"7\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1907\"><ul><li>\u00a0<span class=\"fontstyle0\">Beneficiaries will be required to submit a progress report at the end of each academic year, detailing how the funds have impacted their education and any updates to their financial situation.<\/span> <\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">The EFC will conduct annual audits of the fund to ensure transparency and effective use of resources.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1908\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"8\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1908\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Renewal of Assistance<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1908\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"8\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1908\"><ul><li>\u00a0<span class=\"fontstyle0\">Students receiving support may apply for renewal each academic year, provided they continue to meet the eligibility criteria and demonstrate ongoing financial need.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1909\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"9\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1909\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Termination of Assistance<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1909\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"9\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1909\"><p>\u00a0<span class=\"fontstyle0\">The EFC reserves the right to terminate assistance if:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">The student fails to maintain the required academic performance.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">There is evidence of falsified information in the application process.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">The student engages in any form of misconduct that violates university policies.<\/span> <\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-19010\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"10\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-19010\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Reporting and Communication<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-19010\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"10\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-19010\"><ul><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Regular reports on the Endowment Fund\u2019sperformance, impact, and financial status shall be presented to the Alumni Association and made available to the university community.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Donors will receive an annual impact report, including stories from supported students.<\/span> <\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Introduction The Alumni Association Endowment Fund has been established to provide financial support to vulnerable students at Copperbelt University (CBU), ensuring they have access to education despite economic hardships.
