by the Interim C<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW66003379 BCX8\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"No Spacing\">ommittee<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW66003379 BCX8\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"No data-ccp-parastyle=\"No Spacing\">paid up<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7455082 BCX8\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"No Spacing\"> members of <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW7455082 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7455082 BCX8\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"No Spacing\">CBUAA,<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW7455082 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7455082 BCX8\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"No Spacing\"> with regard <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7455082 BCX8\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"No Spacing\">herein<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7455082 BCX8\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"No Spacing\"> and this constitution shall be interpreted in a manner that advances the preamble statement and the principles of intent of this <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7455082 BCX8\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"No Spacing\">constitution<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW7455082 BCX8\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"No Spacing\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p><table style=\"height: 29px;\" width=\"145\"><thead><tr><th><strong>Term<\/strong><\/th><th><strong>Definition<\/strong><\/th><\/tr><\/thead><\/table><div><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Alumni<\/strong><\/td><td>Refers to a group of male or female former students. Article 3 of this constitution comprises various categories of membership.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/div><div><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Alumni Association<\/strong><\/td><td>A group of graduates (male and female) who have graduated from the same institution and hold their school in high regard.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/div><div><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Budget<\/strong><\/td><td>A statement of the association\u2019s revenue and expenditure, normally annual.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/div><div><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Coordinating Office<\/strong><\/td><td>An office (normally interim) set up outside the registered office of the association to carry out duties prescribed by the executive committee.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/div><div><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Executive Committee<\/strong><\/td><td>A committee comprising alumni members.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/div><div><table style=\"height: 119px;\" width=\"389\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Graduate<\/strong><\/td><td>A person on whom a degree, diploma, or certificate has been conferred by the university and includes a member of the convocation of the university.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/div><div><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Ad hoc Committee<\/strong><\/td><td>A committee appointed to carry out a specific duty assigned to it from time to time, which will assist in the purposive interpretation of this constitution.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1196\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"6\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1196\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">NAME <\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1196\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"6\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1196\"><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Association constituted by these rules shall be known as \u201c<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Copperbelt University Alumni Association,\u201d <\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">hereafter referred to as CBUAA of Alumni. The name and the logo of the Association shall be registered with the registrar of Societies of the Republic of Zambia and the University Council.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The registered office of the association shall be base in the International Relations Office of the Copperbelt University Alumni Office, P. O. Box 21692, Kitwe, Zambia<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1197\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-contrast=\"auto\">Coordinate the association with other bodies.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Deal with arrangements to invite Annual General meeting shall be convened by the secretary at the request of the chairman annually. aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-11914\"><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The general elections of the Executive Committee shall, in normal circumstances, be held at the Annual General Meeting every three years.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A by-Election shall be held in the event of.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A vote of no confidence being passed on a member or the whole Executive Committee.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Disciplinary action being taken on an Executive Member.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The demise or resignation of an Executive Member.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Any ordinary member of the Alumni shall be eligible for elections to any one of the vacant posts provided one is fully paid up.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Procedure for lections shall be:-<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">All elections shall be by secret ballot and be by majority vote\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In the event of a tie, between candidates the ballot shall be repeated until a candidate receives a simple majority.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The lections shall be organized by a returning officer who is the Alumni Officer.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Each candidate shall collect the nomination papers from the Secretary on payment of no-refundable nomination fee to be decided by the executive Committee or at least seven days before the election date and returned at least two days before the date.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"15\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-11915\"><p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The sources of the Alumni Finance Shall be from:-<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Membership (Alumni) Fee to be decided by the Annual General Meeting from time to time.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Subscription fees payable annually to be determined by the Annual General Meeting from time to time.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Registration fees for participation in the annual event to be determined by the Executive Committee from time to time.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Donation and contributions from friends and well-wishers.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Revenues earned from investment e.g. fundraising grants, advertisements.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Expenditure<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">All moneys received for the purpose of CBUAA must be applied diligently to provide maximum benefit to CBUAA.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The funds of the Alumni shall be used only for activities in furtherance of the objectives of the alumni.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">All monies shall be received by and paid to the Alumni Officer who shall deposit to any of the bank(s) approved by the committee.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">All financial transactions shall be entered into the book of account that shall be available to the auditor<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">No payment shall be made out of the bank account without are solution of the Executive Committee authorizing such payments and all cheques on such bank accounts.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A petty cash account shall be maintained by the Alumni Officer for disbursement.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Audited financial reports shall be submitted in writing by the treasurer to the Executive Committee for examination and finally to the Annual General meeting for approval.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">SIGNATORIES OF THE CBUAA ACCOUNT<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">CBUAA account may, subject to approval by the finance and investments committee, operate any type of bank account for convenience and profitability, but in any event the signatory shall be:-<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Chairman<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Treasurer<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Secretary<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Vice Treasurer<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">AUDITING OF BOOKS OF ACCOUNTS\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The accounts of CBUAA shall be audited by an appointment at least four weeks before the A.G.M<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The audited accounts and balance sheet shall be published after approval by the Executive Committee not later than seven calendar days before A.G.M.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The audited accounts along with the auditor s report will be circulated to the members of the Alumni not later than two weeks before the Annual General Meeting.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div the purpose of this constitution, discipline shall mean compliance to the rules of proper conduct as embodied in this constitution, by-law and any other rules as shall be formulated.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Discipline among members in the conduct of the affair and operation of CBUAA shall be enforced by the executive committee<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Composition of the Disciplinary Committee<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The executive Committee shall appoint disciplinary committee made up at least three members of the executive Committee and two ordinary members to determine measures to be taken against errant members.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">OFFENSES<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> <br \/><\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The following shall constitutes offenses:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span Alumni into disrupt or prejudice the well-being of the alumni activities, services of facilities\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Withholding or embezzling or misappropriation of Alumni funds\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">TRADITIONAL ARRANGEMENTS\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">All rights, duties, obligations assets and liabilities of the <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">CBUAA<\/span><\/b> <b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">EXISTING<\/span><\/b> <b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">IMMEDIATELY BEFORE<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> the adaptation of this constitution shall be deemed to be transferred to <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">CBUAA<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> upon adoption of this
