The Copperbelt University being a Public institution and an equal opportunity employer, hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Deputy Registrar at Michael Chilufya Sata School of Medicine, Ndola and Lusaka Campus-

1.         DEPUTY REGISTRAR- MICHAEL CHILUFYA SATA SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, NDOLA

Job Purpose

To perform human resource services pertaining to staff welfare and administrative functions in order to ensure a conducive work and academic environment

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan, coordinate and control all administrative and human resource activities in the School.
  • Interpret and implement human resource policies, strategies and collective agreements.
  • Management of the Staff Performance Appraisal System.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance on matters affecting employee welfare, discipline and labour matters
  • Coordinate operations of the Housing and Properties Office and Security Services Unit.
  • Coordinate timely preparation of departmental budgets in liaison with Finance Department.
  • Provide efficient secretarial services to various meetings in the School
  • Supervise subordinate administrative staff

2.         DEPUTY REGISTRAR- LUSAKA CAMPUS

            Job Purpose

To perform human resource services pertaining to staff welfare and administrative functions in order to ensure a conducive work and academic environment at the School of Business and the ICT Business Centre in Lusaka.

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan, coordinate and control all administrative and human resource activities for the School of Business, the ICT Business Centre and DHIPS Lusaka
  • Interpret and implement human resource policies, strategies and collective agreements.
  • Management of the Staff Performance Appraisal System.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance on matters affecting employee welfare, discipline and labour matters
  • Coordinate operations of the Housing and Properties Office and Security Services Unit.
  • Coordinate timely preparation of departmental budgets in liaison with Finance Department.
  • Provide efficient secretarial services to various meetings
  • Supervise subordinate administrative staff

            Required Competencies and Behavioural Attributes

  • Solid knowledge of the Zambian labour laws
  • Knowledge of the human resource administration principles and practices
  • Excellent  interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision
  • Good supervisory skills

            Qualifications/ Required Experience

  • Grade 12 certificate with five (5) “O” level Credits or better including Mathematics and English Language
  • Minimum of a Masters Degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years working experience at the Copperbelt University.
