Applicants should:

a)       Possess a relevant Masters degree from a recognised University

b)       Submit 20-30 pages of a Research Proposal on the appropriate subject of interest

 

Admission Requirements:

Applicants should:

a)     Master of Sciences degree in a Basic Medical Science, Biological Sciences or equivalent.

b)    Master of Medicine in Clinical Subspecialties’ with some research experience

c)    Masters in Veterinary Medicine with some research

d)    2 years working experience

e)    Any Masters degree in a Health related field.

 

 

1.38        DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (PHD) DEGREE BY RESEARCH (FULL TIME/ EVENING)

 

Admission requirements:

Applicants should:

c)       Possess a relevant Masters degree from a recognised University

d)       Submit 20-30 pages of a Research Proposal on the appropriate subject of interest

 

Field of Study: Mining Engineering, Business related subjects, Wood Technology, Forestry, Natural Science subjects (i.e., Biology, Chemistry and Physics).

 

2.1          MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (FINANCE) (FULL   TIME, EVENING AND DISTANCE LEARNING)

 

Admission Requirements:

(a)     In addition to the admission requirements for the MBA (Finance), applicants who hold professional accounting qualifications in ACCA and CIMA are eligible, provided they hold 5 ‘O’ level Credits (Grade 12).

(b)     Exceptions to the above will be considered on a case by case basis.

 

2.2          MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION – GENERAL (FULL TIME, EVENING AND DISTANCE LEARNING)

 

Admission Requirements:

a)       Applicants should hold a first degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accountancy or Economics from a recognised University.

b)       Applicants holding first degrees in areas other than those covered in (a) above, are also eligible.

c)       Exceptions to (a) and (b) above would be considered on a case by case basis.

 

 

2.3          MASTER OF ARTS IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (FULL TIME, EVENING AND DISTANCE LEARNING)

 

Admission Requirements:

a)       Applicants should hold a first degree in Human Resource Management, Education, Sociology, Anthropology, Law, Public Administration, Personnel Management, Political Science and Economics from a recognised tertiary institution.

b)       Applicants holding first degrees in areas other than those mentioned in (a) above would also be considered.

 

2.4          MASTER OF ARTS IN PEACE AND CONFLICT STUDIES (FULL TIME, EVENING AND DISTANCE LEARNING)

 

With three (3) Specialisations namely:

Admission requirements:

Applicants should:

a)       Possess a minimum of Bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution.

b)       Submit a 20-30 pages of Research Proposal on the subject of interest.

 

Fields of Study: Any of the Natural Sciences (i.e., Biology, Chemistry and Physics) subjects with Education, Wood Technology and Forestry

 

4.0          MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE (FULL TIME, EVENING AND DISTANCE LEARNING)

 

Admission Requirements:

Applicants should hold a first degree in Mathematics from a recognised University.

 

4.8          MASTER OF SCIENCE IN PHYSICS OR PHYSICS EDUCATION (FULL TIME)

Applicants should hold a first degree in Physics from a recognised University.

 

4.9          MASTER OF SCIENCE IN CIVIL ENGINEERING (FULL TIME)

Admission Requirements:

Applicants should hold a first degree in any of the following fields: Engineering, Bachelor of Science Degree with Education, Agricultural Science, Mineral Science or any other relevant applicable degree from a recognised University

 

4.11         MASTER OF SCIENCE IN MINE PLANNING AND DESIGN (FULL TIME)

4.12        MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ROCK MECHANICS (FULL TIME)

Applicants should hold a first degree from a recognised University in one of the following academic disciplines: Agriculture, Agro-forestry, Conservation Ecology, Forestry, Horticulture, Crop Science, Soil Science, Animal Science, Fishery and Aquaculture, Wildlife Management, Tourism, Business Management, Mining, Geology and Geography

 

4.15        MASTER OF SCIENCE IN SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE (FULL TIME, EVENING AND DISTANCE LEARNING)

4.16        MASTER OF SCIENCE IN TROPICAL ECOLOGY AND BIODIVERSITY MANAGEMENT (FULL TIME, EVENING AND DISTANCE LEARNING)

4.17        MASTER OF SCIENCE IN REAL ESTATE FINANCE AND DEVELOPMENT (FULL TIME/ DISTANCE)

DURATION OF THE PROGRAMMES:

a)       Full Time Basis

Each programme is designed to run for eighteen months of which the first 12 months are devoted to course work while the last 6 months to dissertation.

b)       Evening  Basis

Each programme is designed to run for two (2) years with the first eighteen months devoted to course work while the last 6 months to dissertation.

c)       Distance

The Programmes are targeted at those individuals who cannot engage in Full time, Part time/ Evening programmes due to various factors. However, a minimum of three (3) years is designated for each of the programmes.

 

 

METHOD OF APPLICATION:

Candidates are requested to apply on-line by logging on to the Copperbelt University website at                                     www.cbu.edu.zm and clicking the Apply Now link. Applicants are further advised to complete                                        and submit the form online and thereafter print the ZANACO student Bill Muster Form. This is what will                                 be used to make a payment of K150.00 at any Zambia National Commercial Bank Branch (ZANACO)

The closing date for online applications for Evening and Full Time is 31st May, 2018 and for distance                                                 learning programmes the closing date is 31st August, 2018.

Please note that for all the Doctor of Philosophy programmes (PHD) online application, the closing                                                 date is 31st December, 2018
