The Copperbelt University is a Public University established through an Act of Parliament No. 19 of 1987.  The University’s core business is Teaching, Research and Consultancy as a service to the nation.  The University hereby invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for appointment to the following Project positions

 

  1. Software Developer (11 Positions)

Job Purpose: To design, installation, testing and carry out maintenance of software systems

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop integrations and associated sub-systems for the University’s ICT operational systems as such financial, Payroll, Student Information and Human resource systems.
  • Develop project scopes, goals, budget, timeframes, deliverables and associated communication documents that support University’s ICT business goals
  • Write proposals for ICT funding from global corporations to meet the University’s ICT Strategic Plans
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and superintend them in a timely and clear manner.

 

Required Skills

  • Must have strong Project Management skills and preferably certified in project management
  • Must have developed and implemented systems that conform to ISO 27001 and ISO 9001
  • High level skills of communication
  • Experience in management of extensive projects
  • Great skills in Software Integration Services

 

           Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 or Form V Certificate minimum of 5 “0” levels with credit or better in English and Mathematics
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/ ICT

 

  1. Assistant Software Developer (11 Positions)

  1. Documentalist Quality Assurance (2 Positions)

Job Purpose: To run tests on software or applications and analyze defects in order to improve products

 

Required Skills

  • To test software systems and identify defects
  • Ability to develop quality assurance techniques
  • Able to analyse requirements and systems that they meet the quality assurance standard ISO 9001
  • Must know and able to use the quality assurance standard 9001
  • Must be able to document test results

 

 

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 or Form V Certificate minimum of 5 “0” levels with credit or better in English and Mathematics
  • Bachelor of Science in Production Management or related qualification

 

  1. Documentalist Risk Management (1Position):

Job Purpose:  To run tests on software or applications and analyze defects in order to improve products

 

Required Skills

  • Develop Risk Management plans for software projects
  • Identify, Analyse and control risks through risk registers
  • Advise project managers on measures to reduce risks
  • Must know and able to use the PMBOK Risk Management standards

 

Key Requirements

 

  • Grade 12 or Form V Certificate minimum of 5 “0” levels with credit or better in English and Mathematics
  • Certification in Project Management or related qualification
